This weekend has been by far the best I've had in so long. I'm used to studying and living a hermit-style life. I guess it's good to know that I will be done next December. I'm really looking forward to being done.
Friday, I went out to dinner with Ausra, and her husband at PF Changs. The food was excellent, and I rarely eat that well anymore (I don't spend much on fancy restaurants), so it was nice to finally feel like I deserved it for working so hard. Ausra and James deserved it just as much as I did. Ausra's husbands' name is Kevin, and it was nice to meet him after hearing about him for so long. He teaches 8th grade in the Walled Lake school district. He also tells good jokes.
After dinner, I met up with some good buddies of mine at The Corner, a bar in downtown Birmingham for drinks. Octavia, her boyfriend Joe, Ausra, Kevin, Matt all met us there. One of the waitresses there was in a class I took at Oakland, so she gave us free drinks. The Corner is a pretty nice bar. Crowded, but really classy and intimate. The drinks were well over-priced, but it definitely was a place I would visit again, plus there was no cover charge.
Yesterday, I had a Kevin and James day. Me and James spent the whole day together just screwing around. We got a lot of cleaning done. It was nice, because this was the first day in a long time we've gotten to spend the whole time together, and we both really enjoyed it. It definitely brought us closer.
Saturday evening, James and I went to my parents house for my dad's bday dinner. Lindsay and Erik were there too. We had a really good time like we always do. I seriously love hanging out with my parents. I could never live with them again, but they are always a blast to hang out with. At the end of the night, we all went into my dad's music studio, and played some songs and sang. James played the drums. It was hilarious. I really miss being able to perform music, but going there made me feel like I haven't given anything up, because I know I'll come back to it.
I mentioned in one of my earlier posts that I have 10 classes left until I graduate. I really only have 9, but have to take an extra 4-credit class to meet the new requirements of taking the CPA exam. I've decided that I'm going to take two short, 2 credit classes in the Spring and Summer condensed. They will be Jogging, and Stress Management. LMAO. I seriously think it's ridiculous that I have to take these classes to graduate, but I must satisfy the requirements. I talked to Ronnie, and there is a slim chance that I could get out of the classes if I really pushed my culinary arts class from schoolcraft to transfer (which they are currently not accepting). I will talk with my advisor, and Ronnie said he's known people where they waived some requirements so they could graduate on time. I will definitely try that first.
