One thing about me has changed much since before this semester of college. I don't go out on weekends to clubs or do partying anymore. The only thing I will do is occassionally have people over on Friday nights, but only once a month max, or take James to my parents house and chill with them once a month (which has proven to be a lot of fun). Why am I telling you this? Because my grades have gone up, I've been getting more sleep, I'm a lot happier, and I feel extremely accomplished. It took me four years to realize that partying on friday and saturday nights can MASSACRE your GPA. Not only that, but it increases the possibility of depression and burnout. My dad told me this years ago, but I never took him up on his advice. It was partly because I always had a tough time saying no to people who wanted to hang out and 'have fun.' Well since I have been working harder, my grades are incredible, I will be graduating in December of 2006, and interning next semester. It won't be easy though. I have 10 classes left till I graduate in accounting with 150 credit hours (the new CPA requirement). I will take one class during my internship (because they are going to have me working 60 hours/week), 5 in the Spring/Summer condensed, and four in the fall. I think the Summer will be the hardest because many people will go on vacations or get to relax...I won't. BUT I am staying attuned with my goals, and I am so close to being done that I need to stay focused. I have finally realized more of what maturity is, and have taken a huge stride toward my life goals and accomplishments.
I also found out that the guy who plays Freddie Krueger in the Nightmare on Elmstreet movies went to my school. How hilarious is that?
