Busy season

So as the story goes, I find myself sitting at my roommates olive green table procrasting homework because it's mid-semester, and I'm just a little tired of working so hard.

However, I have been kicking ass. On my Managerial & Cost Accounting II midterm, I got an 82%. On my Human Resources midterm, I got a 94%. Still waiting on International Studies midterm because I had to skip class for an interview at Plante & Moran, and make it up yesterday. And here it is, the hardest class: Intermediate Financial Accounting II Midterm with Dillon, 86%!!!!!!!!! I heard the news last night and couldn't believe it. So that's where I'm standing at this point in the semester (things could seriously go downhill if I continue to procrastinate my homework or fall behind though :o).

I had a little mishap happen because I accepted my internship at the Rehmann group and they had me in so early that I had to sign an offer letter. I had an office interview at Plante & Moran last Thursday, and as well as I thought it went, I haven't received a call back yet. I was planning to terminate my at-will contact with Rehmann to work at Plante, but now I might not have an issue. Regardless, I still will have an internship at a CPA firm next semester, which was my original goal. Rehmann has 400 employees and 13 offices, Plante has 1400 employees, and maybe 20 offices. I still will received the same pay though which is $17/hour plus 1.5 OT. Not bad, not bad at all for working my ass off in college over the last four years, and taking out loans to pay for it. Finally, I'm seeing the results of going to college vs. not going to college (instant high pay). If I were to get this amount for a year, I calculated that I would be making about $42,000.

James moved in last week, and things are going very well with that. I am still very happy, and me, him, and Ronnie are getting along very well! The three of us may be living together for a long time because we're all so happy. I will also feel a little financial pressure taken off of me because my rent is now cut in half with James.

Well four good things happened that warranted me getting a bunch of people together to celebrate. Ausra got her internship at KPMG, I got an internship at the Rehmann Group, James got his EMT certification, and I kicked ass on my ACC 311 midterm. This means that I will be inviting some great people to go out for dinner and drinks in downtown Birmingham next weekend.

Overall, things are going well, but it's hard sacrificing going out on weekends and being inside a lot to get these goals accomplished. HOWEVER, the feeling you get when you do well on a very hard test is the most rewarding feeling ever!
