A MASSIVE photo-update entry in which I apologise for being a neglectful asshole.

Sep 02, 2012 23:25

So, first off all, I am blaming Diablo 3 entirely.

Bullshit excuse, I know! But I seriously played the SHIT out of that game. It was beyond ridiculous. I neglected pretty much everything in my life except my furkids XD; So I don't blame any of you if you see this entry and skip right past it, because I have been a neglectful eljay friend and I know that's super lame! :( I really look forward to catching up on entries (as much as I can anyway) and seeing everyones photo's and such! Nothing much has happened (except a few major things) and instead of making a big boring text entry about it, I thought I'd tell a story in photos. 'Cause let's face it! It's way more fun to look at pictures ;)

First, one of my very best childhood friends got hitched. Tamara grabbed my boob in delight.

Alcohol was consumed, and I suffered for it. This is one of the only 'nice' photo's of the night in which I don't look like a posterchild for 'Don't Make These Life Choices'

I even wore a dress. Sometimes I do that! Two of my lifelong besties beside me - Liz and Tamara <3

We all kicked our heels off pretty quickly. Here's a group shot of the 'Hardcores' this was taken at 5pm. I danced from 8pm until 5am.

Here is the rather disgusting (but awesome) result. I could hardly walk the next day.

...this happened. Keepin' it classy, folks.

Then we had Family Photos! Whee! The last time we did them, I was 13. It was long overdue. Unfortunately, my dad couldn't get the time off work...so it's kind of a strange 'Family' photo =/ I like this shot because it looks like an album cover for a Christian rock band. FUCKYEAH.

My mommy and I <3

Aww yeah, stylin'.

SuperCheese! :D Love it.

We took Sarge on his first big hike. He was AMAZING. He astounds me every day with his strength, his happiness, and his determination. I can learn so much from him, he is my little Tripawd Trooper <3

At the top! Taking a break.

The crater! Haha, dogs went right in of course. I coulldn't even put a toe in the water.

As you can see, the girls are tired of the photos. As they've been up here like, twenty goddamn times.

Posing nicely with daddy! :D

Sarge is still getting used to being one of The Most Photographed Dogs In The World.

Sarge being his usual doofus self. Katie says "HIKING IS SRS BUSINESS" Star just looks high.

Then Sarge got a rest on the way down :)

ISIS!! Chillin' like a villain in the backyard. He digs summertime.

Siren decides that, yeah ok, she likes summer too. And confirms this with an epic face.

And then it is On like Donkey Kong.

Then, Siren takes her narcissistic self up on the log pile and acts like a total poser.

"What's up bitches? I'm on a LOG."

"Now I'm in the sky. JK not really."

Done.

Siren decides that all this summer business is tiring and that she needs to sleep on the clean towels.

Then it is time for a LAN party. Siren spends 90% of it like this.

Then it's back outside.

But not for long. Because watching these STUPID DOGS is all very tiring and mentally exhausting.

Sunbeams are much nicer.

Siren's life is very hard.

Especially when she is caught associating with the mutts.

Katie has a hard life too. She has to put up with this new loser dog. But sometimes she loves him, just keep that on the D-low.

Luckily, hoses make everything in life tolerable.

Star would have to agree.

Although sometimes Katie doesn't get as much hose-time as she would like, and she expresses her anger at this.

Star decides to burninate the countryside. Aka I discover SpacePaint.

Fun times at Dennis Lake!

Fun swims.

WHEN SUDDENLY!

Blonde. Fauxhawk (which I missed so much). I feel much more 'me' now.

Then my amazing friend Tracy said she wanted to shoot me. I was overjoyed, as Tracy is an epic photographer!

I laid like this for a good 15 minutes. Tracy kept telling me that I was a trooper. I told her, nah, just Norwegian ;)

Can't wait to see the others! She did 28 shoots during her trip to Smithers, so it'll be a while before I see them all.

Yay! I'm smiling even though it's only 3 degree's out and I've been in a creek for two hours!

Now it is time for another wedding! Yes, that is a 6ft inflaitable dick that we strapped to the roof of Heathers van. It was quite the hit around town. Liz (maid of honor) ordered $250 worth of dick paraphenalia for Leayra's stagette. It was epic beyond measure.

YAY FOR CAPTAIN PECKER THE PARTY WRECKER!

My first time being a bridesmaid. I absolutely loved it, so much <3

Cried a lot. Also, had to walk across an uneven lawn in 5inch stilettos with a 2inch platform. I kind of wanted to die.

Also, can we talk about the fact that my groomsman was 6'5? Yeah.

Um.

A wedding reception is not complete without a Photobooth with mustache props.

And now, some sad news. Which I will actually talk about.

Siren is an indoor/outdoor cat. Before any of you shriek in horror and call the PetSnark police on me, please understand that Siren is quite possibly the most loved, spoiled, and well looked after cat on the f*cking planet. I simply am one of those people who thinks that a cat is born to be a cat, which is at heart a predator. Cats enjoy hunting, climbing trees, and exploring. I think it is cruel to keep a cat inside it's entire life, BUT THAT IS SIMPLY -MY- OPINION. Just as I would never say anyone is a bad cat owner for chosing to have a strictly indoor cat, I would appreciate people not passing judgement on me. Siren is not allowed out at night and always comes when I call. We live in a tiny rural neighbourhood with only one dog who loves Siren, and no cats and 90% of our yard/surroundings are trees. We also live at the end of a culdesac, so there is never any traffic. That being said, of course there are risks with allowing your cats to go outside, even if it is only for a few hours in the day.

Siren was attacked by another cat. Since there are no cats in our neighbourhood, I can only assume it was a stray. I let her in at her usual time (she appears at the door like clockwork, wanting noms) and could tell something was off. I examined her and found some tiny claw punctures on her back. I cleaned them (she let me, surprisingly) and since they were very minor, I decided to keep and eye on them and see what happened. Well, the next day she was fine, until around dinnertime when I noticed that there was a small lump on her back. I tried to examine it and she hissed and shied from me. I decided to make a vet appointment, but the closest one I could make was a day from then. I made it, explained the situation, and the vet said she would be fine.

Well, Siren had to go in earlier than expected. The lump on her back grew MUCH larger in only such a short period of time. I have never seen anything like it. It went from being hardly noticeable to the size of a golf ball overnight. She was in terrible pain, so I called emergency and got her in. Vet said that when they shaved the area, it was much larger than originally thought. They put her under and drained it...said an awful lot of bad infection came out. I was in shock at how fast it happened. The abscess was from a cat bite. The other wounds were superficial claw scratches. Siren had a high fever and had to be kept overnight. When we went to pick her up in the a.m, the vet brought us into the exam room holding Siren in a blanket. When she saw us she started struggling and meowing, and the vet said "Just a warning, it's pretty shocking looking"

Needless to say, I immediately burst into tears. I felt like the worst CatMom in history. The vet ended up handing me a box of tissues and hugging me, which just made me cry harder. I felt indescribably awful for this happening to my baby, felt like it was my fault...that I'd failed as a pet parent. But then I thought about how incredibly happy Siren is when she is outside, chasing bugs and pouncing through the grass. I don't want to let her out ever again, but I feel as though that would be the epitome of cruel now that she has had a taste. I don't know what to do. I have been crying about it since it happened now. Siren sits at the door and wails and wails...

Here she is with daddy, just so happy to be home. She burried herself in my chest and was meowing and nuzzling and purring like a machine. Which, again, just made me bawl like even more of a sadsack.

She is doing fantastic, I am so happy to report. The vet said to leave the wound open to air, and to allow her to clean it as she sees fit. She is playing and jumping around and being her usual food-obsessed self 100%. The wound looks better by the day, and she has a follow up on tuesday morning.

"Come on mom, just let me out for a bit. Just an hour. IT'S ROUND TWO, MUTHAFUCKA. REMATCH. TO THE DEATH." (which is obvs not happening, but her face...oh, her expression.)

Here she is being her usual sucky self. I swear, I have the most cuddly cat in existance. It's almost ridiculous.

"Oh, are you trying to type? Too bad."

<3 I am so blessed.

Then we were dorks in the tub today. I love her so much it's nuts ;_;

So, to end this on a happier note, here are some miscelaneous photos that don't really have any order. I'm super involved in Facebook, which is a reason this gets neglected...but I will try super hard to not go so long updating again! If you guys want to add me on there, shoot! :D

Sarge says DERP DERP.

Molly says "I am overdue for the groomers, amirite?"

Sarge is pretending to be excited about Primpin' 'n Pimpin' day. He isn't.

Buddies! Notice that Sarge has suddenly grown LEGS. As in, ya know, HOLYSHIT HE AIN'T A PUPPY NO MORE.

Siren enjoys some begged-for noms.

And last but not least, my favorite photo I have ever taken of The Sarge <3
