Sheldon settled in against her, waiting patiently for the story. He knew that there had been things she wasn't telling him for a long time, and now it was just the matter of getting her to actually say them. He was a patient man, and didn't mind waiting for when she was ready, but now that she was, he was going to give her her full attention. This was what she deserved.

"Who lived in Hawaii," he added in for her with a bit of a soft smile.

She smiled slightly at that and nodded. "And had a Mom, a Dad, and a big brother. And then one day...," her voice caught and she cleared her throat. "They died."

His hand slid over her back gently, just doing his best to be supportive. "I'm sorry."

She shook her head. "It's okay. I mean...I got jostled around for a couple years, but then...I got a pretty amazing family. It hurts...thinking about my brother...but it also hurts to think about not having everyone else, you know?"
