Just a little explanation, since it seems to be coming into more play lately.
Michael is psychic.
He's not very good at it, and is, in fact, only at the high end of normal, as psychic goes. He can't read minds and he isn't much of an empath, and he sure as hell can't bend spoons. He also has absolutely no control over it.
What he can do is manipulate probability. Luck goes his way more often. The dice land just right, or he chooses the safe door, or the turbo boost that should have landed disastrously only lands roughly. He lives through things.
He picks up on mood because it would be bad not to. He's a good judge of character and can usually tell when he's being lied to. He spends so much time with Kitt that he can sense Kitt's presence or absence, even if Kitt's CPU has been pulled from the car and hidden. He tends to find the right thing to say, even if he says it badly. His instincts are things to be followed, as are his impulses, and if something seems coincidental but isn't, he can tell.
Basically, it just helps to keep him alive and is the psychic equivalent of good danger sense plus knowing who's calling just before the phone rings.
However, during Once More, With Feeling (and thus Let It Be Me), Michael's psychic abilities are on high alert. He's cursed, and that's bad-- so his brain is trying to warn him, setting off his danger sense. It doesn't tell him how he's in danger, however. It's not that good. Michael knows there's something, but doesn't know what. The ongoing yellow-alert in his brain basically means he'll have a long-standing headache. Regardless of whether he's in his universe or in Milliways, his headache will get worse after singing and especially after dancing. Yes, it's perfectly safe to sing and dance at home. No, his psychicness is not psychic enough to discern that. It just wants him to quit doing things that put him in danger.
On top of that, he picks up on Kitt's stresses and upsets-- the usual reaction is a drive to set them right, no matter what. He is personally under stress because Stevie is back in his life, for the moment, Eddie is facing the Navy in his home universe, and Michael has to solve a case and still look and sound like a rock star onstage.
It's enough to make a guy want to take a vacation.
