[A voice post following in the wake of this]

I, ah. Don't mean to bother anyone unduly, but there appears to be a body in the library? I'm not sure who it is. Does this happen often?

Oh. There's blood all over the Chemistry section. Doesn't anybody care about protecting fine literature? This is really quite unfortunate--

Er. Right. Priorities ( Read more... )

Fantastic, a few days in and already there are bodies about.

It's not what you'd call encouraging, is it? Still, a thing must be tarnished before it can be made to shine, and so forth. I don't think we've met, Mr...?

Not if it's kept from tarnishing in the first place.

Doctor Leonard McCoy, you came here recently too right?

That's correct, Dr. McCoy. Aziraphale, former Principality - it's a pleasure.

And as it stands, I think the inmates here are here because they are beyond...preventive measures, save those who are doing well in their rehabilitation. I've been led to believe that this Master chap isn't doing terribly well to that end.

Same to you. Can't say I've heard of a 'principality' position before.

So he was an inmate? I guess he'll be popping back from the dead sometime soon- I'd like to get a look at him and the effects of the rebirth. It ain't natural, I'll tell you that much for sure.

Well, the angelic hierarchy is a complex and many-layered thing. As for the matter of revival, I agree it's a peculiar practice but I suppose if one's going to fill a vessel with murderers and other makers of mischief, there needs to be defences in place against them doing what comes naturally.

You lost me at 'angelic hierarchy.'

Ah. Right. Well. I'm an angel - formerly a guardian of Eden and later a Principality, set over Earth to live among mortals and provide them with inspiration and spiritual guidance and whatnot. And...now I'm a warden, hopefully for the same purpose.

Erm. You have, or had, Christianity as a concept where you came from? The Bible? I'm in Genesis, briefly, although one doesn't like to brag.

fff I'm sorry, your aziraphale is fantastic. the last bit made me laugh XD hyposprayed July 17 2009, 04:14:29 UTC
Fantastic, first I'm chatting up a gal claiming to be some sort of grim reaper and now-

[the rant stops with a sigh] Right, angel. Yeah, went to church every Sunday as a kid. I think my mother would cuff me 'round the ears for speaking so casually to the divine. [though it sounds like he may not fully believe the angel bit yet]

I wouldn't worry, Doctor. I attracted all sorts of unflattering nicknames from mortals during my time on Earth - simply being spoken to casually is quite an improvement, if anything.

Leonard McCoy. Are you one of those 'inmates' or a Warden as well?

That's all I seem to meet. I'm starting to think these inmates aren't a very social bunch.
