Prompt 172 Free for All - Green
Characters/Pairing (if any) Willow
A/N: A set of drabbles for this month, including make-ups for all the prompts
It’s the colour of pine-fresh bathroom cleaner. It shines with the unhealthy glimmer of petrol in a rainwater puddle.
In her heart, Willow knows it’s evil.
The sleeves are really, really bad.
Focus on the good things, Tara would say. (Did say, when Anya first brought the fabric samples home.)
The bodice is okay. Boned. Elegant.
Boned. Stiff. Uncomfortable. Breath-compressing. Yikes.
No one looks at the bridesmaids. It’ll be fine.
Except, not a bridesmaid. Best man. Speech maker supreme. Double yikes. Where’s a little glamour when you need one?
Stop it. Not going to crumble now. It’s only a wedding.

Prompt 171 - Black
Characters/Pairing (if any) Spike/Drusilla
Glossy black temptress. Ripe, wicked plum.
I was wrong; she’s a damson or a sloe. Pitch black and bitter to taste.
Ode to a damson damsel...
Fuck it. Can’t write that. Sound like a lunatic. Worse than the maddest romantic.
Black glowing, darker than coal, burning with cold heat.
Well done, Spike. Massively confusing drivel. Try harder, idiot.
Besides, Dru wasn’t only black. Paler than pale too. More sunless than any vamp you’ve ever seen.
What’s black and white and red all over? Drusilla, drenched in the lifeblood of a dying Slayer.
Good one, Spike. But she’s still gone.

Prompt 170 - Blue
Characters/Pairing (if any) Xander
Got the blues, Mr Harris?
Why yes, friendly though mythical barkeep. Pass me the bourbon and I’ll tell you my tale.
I was born in a small town. My parents were drunks. I had a good friend, and he died young.
(I mean, I killed him. The second time.)
I had other good friends, and they...
Well, they worked hard, studied long, and didn’t let regular demon killing get in the way of the SATs. (Me? I didn’t.)
And that’s why I’m on the road, except the engine fell out of my car today and...
Yeah, I got the blues.

Prompt 169 - Yellow
Characters/Pairing (if any) Joyce
Pink for girls, blue for boys?
Not for Joyce. All that gender role crap is so out of date. She wants her baby girl to be strong, vibrant, confident in her own capability. Not restricted to nice little jobs for girls, like... well, like running a little gallery that makes $50 a month if you’re lucky and your husband thinks is an indulgence.
Okay, yellow paint and ducklings round the walls maybe don’t give that kickass feminist message to the full. But they’ll get her baby started right.
Little Dawn’s going to grow up into one hell of a fighter.
