I have to be honest, if it wasn't for divadea previously and deird1 now, you wouldn't be able to find anything in this comm. They both have done such an amazing job of tagging entries. And if it wasn't for deird1 we wouldn't have a delicious account, which lets even more people find the fantastic fanworks on this community.
If I ever meet them in person, I'm giving them both a huge hug. :)
I have to give props to the two ladies who have helped me with this community, boy_named_susie and lauratd. They've both become my friends outside of the community and have been there for countless nights. Nothing was more fun than emailing them, bursting with ideas, brainstorming over prompts. They might not be seen much but they are a vital part of the comm.
*hugs* *Was* is probably more apt in my case since I have hugely become a fandom drop-out but we had a lot of fun during that first year or so when I was very much involved. Thanks for the opportunity to start this up with you and become such great friends. And one day I hope to see you use that special icon I made you in response to one of the first prompts (or else I'm going to kick *you* in the junk, lol).
I hope everyone knows and appreciates how much work you put into this comm. I've found the occasional cap and I enjoy our brainstorming sessions, but you do all the heavy lifting (as is made evident by my epic failure to post on time when you go on much needed vacations). (hugs)
I want to give this comm the credit it really, truly deserves for being so generally awesome. But, also I have to say that the challenges in this community are what prompted me to continue to practice and improve my (at times vestigial) art skills. Some of my first fanarts were posted here and I continue to find incredible inspiration with every new prompt.
Without the wonderful encouragement that this community provides, I doubt I would ever have had the courage to pick up my PS brush. So thank you guys so much for being just generally awesome.
I love love love your art and I love seeing what you will come up with for the challenges. You always have something creative and unique to enter. I love that.
I love the creativity of this comm. Not just the contributors (though we are sparkly and *fabulous*), but the constant finding of new prompts, new themes, new lights on old themes.
And I love the banners. So glad you brought back participation banners! Special mentions though for the monthly theme banners, which always bring a new flavour to the comm, and for Jayne's terrible woolly hat in the 'still time to post' banner. Awww. I am so totally art-challenged that having these visual treats lifts my journalling life.
I'm glad I brought back the participation banners too. I think it really helps people who might get discouraged otherwise since we went to monthly voting.
For the theme banners, it gives me WAY too much joy when I think of a theme and then think of the banner to go for it. I get giddy sometimes looking for that perfect cap.
I get that way with the winners banners too. I take a lot of pride in trying to find just the right scene to fit the fic, even if it's just a minor part.

And you know one day, when I'm about to leave LJ, I will flounce off into the sunset with it.
