ROFL!!

I love Buffy and Willow trying to explain Godot to poor Xander, Buffy's assessment of Oedipus Rex as "the Schindler's List of its day" and Snyder asking them to butcher Oedipus because it's his mother's favorite! Excellent!

Thanks! I'm so happy that you liked it! Buffy's take on Godot was shamelessly influenced by the pilot episodes, and I couldn't resist taking a stab at Snyder (that he'd be unable to see why his mother liking Oedipus was disturbing because he's very disturbed).

Bwaa-haa-ha! I remember have a very similar conversation about Godot; what are they think having high school kids read that play? I don't think you have enough life experience to really get Becket at 15.

The explanation for Oedipus Rex amused me-- Hee!

Thanks! I'm glad it made you laugh! I got Godoted in 10th grade, and you're right - I wasn't ready for it yet. Snyder is just ... (shudder).

I love Beckett-- I even named a cat for him! But he didn't really make sense to me until oh, 19 or 20. It's really kind of a shame that kids who might love him once they have a little more life under their belts can get turned off at 15.

I must admit I didn't appreciate him till my 30s! And even now, End Game is my favorite.

But I think Buffy might have had some of the grimmer aspects of life thrust upon her early, so her simplified interpretation of Godot actually speaks to her at a young age.

Hee! That's hilarious. Perfectly in character and I love the allusions. Nicely done!
