A/N: This drabble grew out of my feeling today, on my last day of high school ever. It's sort of a metaphor for today. But not.
The last day feels like the first day.
In the confusion of her last moments, Tara felt something almost like anticipation as the world slipped away from her and she found herself in a totally new place, a totally new state of being.
Her body was gone, broken, finished. But her soul, her true self, was free. Finally free.
To be honest? It felt good. Better than her life before.
She still remembered, still cared for those she left behind. But she was at peace, complete at long last. She watched them.
