Prompt: 015- I Already Met You
Characters or Pairing: Xander/Renee
A/N: Based on the line "You're like my last girlfriend and the girlfriend I had before her." I think it applies very well to Xander's demon streak.
“I forgot how fast slayers heal.” Xander said as he walked up to the parapet where Renee sat, looking out over the mountain valley. He rested his elbows on it looking out at the sunset, “I went to the infirmary to see how you were doing and they told me you’d been released.”
“How’d you find me out here?” she smirked.
“Well last time I saw you, you were still brooding, I figured this was a pretty good brooding spot.” He threw up his hands to block a playful punch. “I jest!” he said. “Nah,” he shrugged as the two of them settled back to looking at the horizon. “I asked Dawn, she’s got a pretty good view of things.”
Renee nodded, “The advantages of having your own personal giant.”
“I’ll agree with you there.” He laughed, “Don’t tell Buff, but I kind of hope she stays this way. Useful for smooshing enemies.”
“Yeah, but they’d see her coming a mile away.” Renee laughed and looked down at Xander’s hands. “What’s that?” she pointed to a crumpled piece of paper.
“Oh that? That was the reason I went to the infirmary in the first place.” He said turning and hoisting himself to sit on the next parapet, back to land, looking at Renee. “Kinda moot now.” He smiled and unfolded it before handing it to her.
Renee took the messy paper into her hands and turned it right side up to look at it. In messy lettering was written- Get Well Soon. “Aww.” The instinctive girl noise came out. It always came out. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.” He said. He looked over his shoulder at the sun, “Well I better get going. See you around?”
“Yeah.” Renee might have been a good soldier, but she couldn’t fight her emotions back with a machine gun, “You know I like you, right?”
“I know.” Xander replied. “Normally my male hormones would render me clueless but seeing as I live with 50 gossipy young women, I know. Gotta say. I like you too.”
The pair stood up, heading for the door. “Do you think we got a shot?” she asked.
“Well, let’s see if you’re Xander Harris girlfriend material. Are you a demon?”
“No…” she paused, “but I do have that demon blood mixed with a girl to give her the strength to fight vampires mystical bloodline thing swinging.”
“Then I think there’s a shot.” He said, putting his arm around her shoulders.
