She lay torn, shattered, she looked exactly how Faith felt. A few hours after fleeing the scene, she came back to her.
The one person who actually gave a damn, her Watcher, was gone. Fists clenched, she fought tears and lost, her face tight from the struggle as the tears leaked out from between eyelids squeezed shut.
She fumbled in the pocket of her jeans for her lighter. It took a few tries to get the thing to light, her hands were shaking so bad.
She touched the flame to the corpse of her Watcher. All that remained was fire.
