DX of the day. OR Third time's the charm?
It's constipation....
no, it's a kidney stone,
no, wait for it,
it's...................... AN OVARIAN CYST !!!!!!!!!!!
Left side, 3.8 (mm, I presume) x 2.3
(and thus just plausibly missing the 3 (unit) slices of the ER cat scan - esp if the er doc, who was convinced it was constipation, and being asked by his patient (me) to consider the possibility of kidney stones, never looked at my ovaries at all)
The urologist's cat scan was much nicer, had pillows, and didn't make scary noises. Maybe they oil it??? My primary care HMO now can't remember telling me "OK, we have no urologists, go see one if the ER tells you to" which had been the extent of the referral, so that may be fun for later.
I'm now kinda hoping that this cyst, which I shall call Filbert, has in fact been instrumental in my rather extreme premenstrual, um, moodiness and thus that my current physical pain and some of my past emotional rollercosterdom could indeed be dealt with by nice tidy scalpels. Or better yet, ultrasound or something less painful.
