Go Balls Deep

Today seemed like a perfect day for cleaning out my closet (it's sunny, clear, and about 97 degrees, btw).

To be frank, it's really because some of the screws and brackets holding up one of the 3 shoe shelves I have in the closet had come out of the wall, and some of my many towers of shoeboxes have been threatening to send me to my grave in a very Collyer brothers manner.  So Jason and I cleared off the shelf and the hanger rod beneath it, he fixed it all up, and I reloaded the shoe shelf.

I took this prime opportunity to go through the belt holder I have, and I tossed (set aside for donation) everything that did not come from a cow, reptile or worm -- three things which ironically, it occurs to me, I would not, were they alive, actually touch.

Now I'm lazing on the couch with Jason, drinking tea and watching "Dirty Jobs" with Mike Rowe on the Discovery Channel.  LOVE this show; Rowe's unexpectedly funny, very sarcastic.  And brave.  And, I hope, well compensated (he's currently on a Coast Guard boat, cleaning the bottoms of buoys in SF Bay, and earlier was sorting slime eels (separating eels from their own snot) on a boat in Maine.  Yuck).

I'm also playing hooky from Church today; the Choir apparently gets the summer off, and we don't need to be back until September, and I'm taking today off from Church, too -- it's not going to happen often, might as well take advantage now.

I've just learned that buoys have balls (bell buoys have tappers, and gong buoys have no balls).  Time to go.
