I'm on a classic TV kick on YouTube right now.
This all started with a message back and forth with my friend Joe on Facebook, wherein he mentioned Hawaii. I told him about Jason's buddy from flight school who just spent a couple of months here in PCola for some training, and who is stationed in HI now as a Marine CH-53 pilot. He owns the same make/model of red Ferrari that Magnum PI drove.
So I went to YouTube to find a video clip of the Magnum PI opening sequence so I could email it to Jason, and perhaps entice him to apply for his next duty station in HI (he wants to, but I'm skeptical of the work opportunities for me).
This got me to clicking on the other classic opening sequences on YouTube.
I've watched the opening credits for Alf, Growing Pains (the later years), Family Ties, CHiPs, and Happy Days (the early Scott Baio years). This led me to wonder, what ever happened to my favorite character, Potsie (I had SUCH a crush on Potsie, you'd never believe...). Turns out Anson Williams hasn't done much since an appearance on "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" back in 2003, but he's apparently still alive (at least accdg to imdb), and had at some point even been nominated for a Golden Globe award! Also -- this was the most interesting part -- he's the nephew of Dr. Henry Heimlich, of Heimlich Maneuver fame (or, if you're an Eddie Izzard fan, "the 'ME' Maneuver").
Also, I really miss the old TV shows. They were cheesey, yes, but they didn't suck as bad as, say, "Rock of Love" with Bret Michaels.
OK, well, back to work.
Thank you for being a friend!
