Another day another dollar.
Back at work after a wonderful break.
Well let's see. Enjoyed the last Burlesque night at Subculture but got there slightly late and missed a couple of acts because naughty Blouse forgot to tell me the proper start time. The band Dr Combover were surprisingly good, and the new layout suits the night much better. Cool!
Then went walking in the Dales. Despite the changeable and overcast weather I got sunburned on the first day. We had the place pretty much to ourselves so it was fantastic. I was particularly impressed on climbing a ladder stile that a helpful bird had managed to poop just where you would put your hand (and did). Mmmm. Between us we only managed to fall over about 5 times. Dee did a spectacular acrobatic dive with a twist along a relatively flat road. I managed to trip myself up and over on a ladder stile with my walking poles. We splashed along several paths that had become streams and rivers, poked our heads into spooky wet caverns, cantered on Saltburn beach, delved into rockpools at Staithes, whetted whistles in Whitby. Had an acoustic concert in Loftus, a laugh at Forbidden Corner, lost around Aysgarth and a picnic on the Dales way. Generally came home contented and chilled out. Was a little tired when due to excessive rain in the night the Youth Hostel Fire Alarm went off at 4am. Nice to be a scruffy walking urchin though eating squashed sandwiches at the top of hills. Ohhh and guess what...there was plenty of water in the waterfalls.
Passed the dreaded exams and need no resits...even got a letter of commendation...go me!!!
Off t'Yorkshire Show tomorrow, sucking up to our riding instructor James who is showing there.
