Please, please, please keep my grampa and my family in your thoughts and prayers during this week...
My gramma had to call 911 and have my grampa rushed to the ER this morning. He woke up and was completely out of it, disoriented, his feet were cold and his toes were blue. My gramma thought he might've been having a stroke. So the EMS took him in. His blood sugar was way low, his blood pressure was through the roof... normal is like 100something/80... his was like 220/116. Then he was having problems breathing. It turns out he was in severe kidney failure, and has a touch of anmmonia (however it's spelled) and the combo of both made his lungs fill up with fluid, which then led to the beginning of congestive heart failure. They had to intibate him, and put him on a respirator to breathe for him.
My mom called at like 1030 or so, and left 2 msgs to call asap. my dad text'd me and said the same thing, so I knew something was up. So I called, heard that he was going to the hospital, and that my dad was alraedy on his way over there, and my aunt was on her way up from akron. So I left school. Flew home. I swear I was prayin there weren't any cops, b/c I don't think I went any slower than 75-80 the whole way. At one point I looked down and I hit 90. I was driving safely. But yeah. So I get home, I hear further news that he's in kidney/heart failure. So I'm like, I wanna go to the hospital. So we call my sister out of school. Head over. My grampa was still in the ER but already on the respirator. My sister hardly got in the door way and turned around balling. Idk how I kept it together. My dad when he called my mom to let her know couldn't even talk, he had to have my uncle Tracy tell her what was up b/c he couldn't do it. And when my dad loses it... you know something's bad. So then they took him up to ICU and hooked him up to do a dialysis. They did get his kidneys working again. They're gonna do another dialysis tomorrow though just to completely clean him out. Right before we were leaving he was getting more alert. The last time I went in to see him, he could hear you talking, and would look at you. The prognosis is good. But it's still gonna be a tough couple days. He'll be in ICU at least through tomorrow, then they're moving him to his own room for a day or 2 after that.
So yeah... it was a crazy day. Spent like 8 hrs there.
Oh, and as I'm getting home from school, "Jesus Take the Wheel" comes on the radio, and I just started crying. Like, it was just like, such amazingly perfect timing. And yeah.
my other grampa gets his test results back tomorrow at the same hospital. So hopefully it's not bad news there too. B/c Idk how much more my mom can take.
So yeah... I'll probly be at the hospital at least for a bit tomorrow again. Then coming back for class at 6. hopefully. We'll see.
Anyways, I'm off to bed... I'm completely exhausted.
have a good night.
