I want to take a two-three day trip this weekend, since I work at a bank and get a paid vacation day off for MLK day on Monday.
I was pricelining tickets to Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, San Diego, Phoenix, Albuquerque, Philadelphia. The cheapest I can get would be $200/ticket to San Francisco, which is what appeals to me most (I want Seattle, but it's winter hardcore so that's second on the list). Eric was going to come and we could stay at the Marriott in Fisherman's Wharf right downtown for $39/night. Rental car would only be $15/day. I was looking at leaving tomorrow Sunday 1/18 and coming back Tuesday 1/20. Probably be about $300/person in the end for the entire trip.
Eric was playing the Wii on the couch while I was trying to plan it all. Finally I was like 'Will you PLEASE come over here and help me?'. I think I could tell he really didn't want to go, but he was convincing that he did. I begged for honesty and he smartly responded that we should save our money.
This is true. But I'm going nuts here. I thought I'd be okay but I get a travel bug more and more inbetween trips. And I'm sick of living here. Seriously. Tired of the scenery, time to move on. But I'm staying until I finish school.
Anyway...so I'm still considering going on my own somewhere. Tax returns come soon and that can pay for the trip and be used for school. I just wanteda travel buddy because it's more fun, and I hate driving in big cities that I'm unfamiliar with (traffic lights are different everywhere, it's crazy!)
So do I go on a weekend trip last minute? Do I find another travel buddy? Do I even know anyone in San Francisco that I could visit? I've never been to California and it sounds like the most beautiful city.
I'll probably just listen to the voice of reason and stay here all weekend. Severe lame.
