Okay, so I just finished reading Twilight. I first heard about it over the summer when
melanoo11 wrote about it in her lj and how everyone was talking about it. She said it was a vampire novel, so immediately I was intrigued. I kept hearing about more and more people reading it, but I didn't think about it until it was plastered on the shelves at

BUT, I agree on your movie choices! Bram Stoker's Dracula was FANTASTIC. I finally bought my own copy (special edition!) this year along with the original Dracula with Bela Lugosi (hah, funny...Bela played the original Dracula and Bella is the main character in these vampire books). I also bought both Underworlds this year, and I think they are some of the most fantastic 'vamp/goth' movies ever. Aristocracy is the perfect word for it. I also purchased Van Helsing (the most recent one). I've seen Dracula 2000, and it was good, though not the best. I tried watching Blade (movie) and I couldn't get into it. Maybe I should look for the TV series online to watch?
I think perhaps the 'dark' side of me has some attachment to my lifelong interest in the 'other' side of things...like the movie Stigmata, about demons/fight between good and evil from the religious standpoint. I think vampires have even moreso intrigued me because they are made to be evil, though many have evolved to something good. That, and how they even came to be is intriguing.
I was thinking of that t-shirt while I wrote this post. The saying always hits me to the core in some ways, but now that you wrote it, I read it differently. Instead of being negative, I read it as a positive thing where everyone in the world truly IS unique, and we can't be identical to any one person.

You didn't like the Blade movies?!?! They were freakin' awesome!!!The Blade TV series actually kinda sucked. But parts of it were good. Like the whole "House" thing.
And I kinda think of Vampires, especially after watching the Blade TV series and the Underworld movies, as more misunderstood than evil. Sure, there are some bad guys, but not all of them.
