I'm moving to Salt Lake City, Utah.
Within the next week.
Very long story short...I applied for 52 jobs in SLC yesterday after I got home from being fired. Well, I got an email response and a call for a part time position. A job is a job, right? Well anyway. I got some mysterious call...talked for 30 mins...the guy [Joseph] was leaving for out of down but apparently had my resume and felt VERY impressed to call me though he usually never will call out of state people for a job opening. He was talking about how he served a mission and I was like 'Okay, apparently he assumes I'm LDS', but had no idea who I was talking to yet. He's had people with master degrees apply and turned them down, and all other sorts. He said there was something about me, and that I'm an amazing writer [all it was was a cover letter!]. He said not to break bank to get out there, but he'd love to interview me and he has a great hiring record and had a good feeling about me. He said it's not my job yet, but think of it as a great opportunity for myself.
Sooo...I came home from the grocery store. Dad had called me there and given me that number and told me to call it ASAP. I asked who on earth I was talking to...
It was the head of the Church Real Estate Department. As in, from the Church Office Building.
They need an Executive/Administrative Assistant/Secretary to do all the closing packets for the Church Real Estate, create binders and power points for the seminars for training and with the Presiding Bishopric, etc. Whoah.
I called Becky [a secretary] this morning. Joseph is off the rest of the week, but I asked her to tell him to please not hire anyone yet because I'm trying to get out ASAP. Becky said after Joseph hung up with me he talked to her and he aboslutely LOVED my personality [he was asking if I had used certain programs and I said no, but I learn quickly because I'm a sponge...and he said 'I read that on your resume'...and I asked 'Wait, I put I'm a sponge on my resume?' Hahaha...he was laughing so hard]. She said he's not scheduled any other interviews and that he wants to meet with me...and if you ask her, that I pretty much have the greatest chance of having the job.
SO...WOW.
So I'm flying out between Thursday and Monday sometime, with nothing but my suitcases. No money. Staying with a friend in SLC until I can get on my feet. And go on faith praying that I get this job [or I have a couple part time ones behind it I can look at]. The Lord has brought me this far with opportunity...the fact that someone from the Church Office Building called me and he NEVER calls out of state, and has turned down all these people...makes me feel wonderful already. I'm not counting on the job, but I'm going to have faith that I need to be out there for a reason.
I also randomly had an LDS girl email me this morning saying she needs a roomate starting the start of December, which was SO perfect in timing! She's got her eye on this community housing...3BR, 2 bath, right by the TRAX, and with three people it's around $250/month plus cheapo utilities per person. It's got a pool, fitness center, tennis courts, laundry, playground, covered parking, air conditioned, and fully furnished. Nice!
So, to all of you, I love you. I don't know when I'll see you again, or when I'm leaving, or coming, or going, or where I'm living, or who with, or anything like that. I'm a hobo as of the moment I get on the plane.
Wow.
Just trust, that's the best advice I have!
