Session 4 - A Dauntain is not a toy
Here be the summary for the fourth session of Chuck's Changeling game. In it, the SGAA deal with detention and ultimately come to blows with their Dauntain adversary. No daycares were harmed in the making of this session. But to save space for peeps, here be a cut.
The fourth session of the SGAA Changeling started off where the third left off. Rook dropped Sam off at her place. Not one to press his luck after what happened a couple of days earlier, Rook made no moves, and headed back to school to help Raz in the removal of the fans. Memphis dropped all of his passengers off, except for Juan, and they went to Memphis's place, where Juan slept in the car.
Memphis found sound sleep in his room, but when he awoke he saw a bloody message of importance on the wall. It was from the SGAA advisor, John Smith. He detailed what the Asterions did, which were what stars did in their classical definition.
After they slept, Juan and Memphis brought coffee and donuts to the group before detention started. Raz decided to get some sleep in Memphis's car before the detention. Sam was the next member to appear, then Lord Darkshire was dropped off by his mom.
Mindy was the last to arrive and wanted to have a word with Juan. After getting closer and closer to Mindy, Juan was on the receiving end of a hard slap. The daycare he ravaged previously were her dreamers. Everyone was shocked as Juan gave his justification, and everyone slowly made their way to the principal's office.
Ms. Gertrude informed the group that the library was not available, so detention would be held in the cafeteria. Selma and Percy would watch over us and have a list of chores for us to do. After being informed that drink and food would not be allowed in the cafeteria, everyone finished their breakfast quickly and detention began.
As Percy read the list and mentioned that organizing the library books would be out, Memphis persuaded Selma and Percy to go to Ms. Gertrude to check what the procedure would be to rearrange and execute the chores.
After they left, Juan discovered an imp by the name of Trix. After some monkey business, Juan used aphrodisia to make it love ramming into the wall.
Memphis went into the kitchen and found another imp by the name of Nix. It banged pots around and started to write derogatory messages on the wall with cheese spray. Both were originally from the library, which the group destroyed the day before.
While most of the group tried to shoo the imps away and clean the wall, Juan went out in the hallooed watch and to delay the two Autumn dweebs. After much bullshitting he used (surprise, surprise) aphrodisia on Selma. She started acting weird towards Percy, but with a shout Percy caused the glamour use to fade.
After Percy and Selma got back, they asked the SGAA to separate into two groups. Memphis asked many questions which Ms. Gertrude seemed to have expected. Memphis finally convinced the two that a congressional committee was needed to decide the make up of the groups. Sam, Mindy and Lord Darkshire would be in one group. Raz, Rook, Memphis and Juan would be in the other.
Memphis then convinced the two the need for proper group names. Selma and Percy had to discuss this amongst themselves, asking the group to have a seat at a table. The imps moved chairs as the seating begin, but only Sam and Rook fell on their respective asses.
As the Autumns decided on names, Memphis and Rook discretely moved the table closer and closer. When the deciding was done, they barely had a reaction though. The larger group was team one. The smaller group was team two. This perplexed Memphis.
Group one’s first task was to paint a wall. Juan got really eager at scraping the paint, using it to set up a bunk. Memphis started analyzing what the respirator warnings said and meant, quizzing Percy over every little detail. Raz decided to fix up the rollers to get the job faster, so for materials he went for the janitor’s closet.
Trix was there to greet him, causing Raz’s perceptions to go hazy. Raz did manage to find materials to hook up the rollers, plus chemicals needed to alter the paint color. As he left the closet though, Trix followed.
Seeing Trix harassing his friend, Rook took a swipe at it with his sword. With the first slice not doing the job, Rook started to come under the effects of the imp. Memphis somehow managed to knock Percy on the ground accidentally and acted like he was trying to wake him up.
Raz managed to set his stuff down safely and whacked the imp into the wall. Rook casually walked over to the imp and gave it a killing blow. Then Percy yelled at Memphis, nearly killing him chimerically. Percy got up pissed saying that the job needed to be finished just as he turned around and saw that the wall was indeed finished. Seeing how Memphis was hurt, Juan decided to smack Percy with his stick and tell him to sleep, which Percy did. Raz at this time put the imp remains in a bag and beat it against the wall until the imp corpse was imp dust.
Raz looked at the list and immediately went to the next task of fixing desks. Rook ended up having to carry the body to the nurse’s office, which Percy was put in a bed and covered up. Juan gave him NyQuil, then the remaining group one members went to finish the last two tasks.
Raz skillfully fixed desks, including empty chambers in chairs for notes, and desks that were bigger on the inside than outside. Juan and Memphis went to replace a hand-rail. Instead of using the wooden one provided, they got a bumper from shop class and stylized it, since it was more durable. Rook mulched, and that’s about all he did.
After the work was done, Group one went to Selma to report that Percy was in the nurse’s office. She immediately told everyone to finish cleaning the windows, then head to the cafeteria. Nix decided to make this more difficult by spilling the water all over the floor. Everyone got a mop and cleaned the whole room. After the task was finished Juan and Memphis used the mops to travel down to the cafeteria, as gondolier and skates respectively.
Back in the cafeteria, Raz was doing design sketches with the help of Memphis and Mindy. Rook wanted some damn coffee, so he and Juan went to the cafeteria, where Nix had turned the gas on. Juan could not find the cut off valve before Rook swung and missed the imp, igniting the gas. Juan used his stick to order the gas to disperse, thus the two were saved. Rook then got his damn coffee as Juan got some ice cream.
Everyone was back and seated as Ms. Gertrude walked in by herself. She was not happy, especially since she knew the group was responsible for the library. She was about to force Rook to speak when Juan admitted he was the one she wanted. She proceeded to banally mind fuck him, turning him into a conformist.
Memphis pulled out and palmed a lighter as he watched the situation worsen. He asked Ms. Gertrude if she could hear a noise from the kitchen, but her focus was on Juan. Memphis then threw the lighter at the lit eye of the stove. This caused a minor explosion which threw Memphis across the room and also set off the fire alarm.
Ms. Gertrude evacuated everyone and Memphis ran for Percy. When outside she continued to force her world view on the SGAA, making Juan turn Memphis to the Banal side. Raz urged Rook and Sam that they needed to take her down right then and now. After some hesitation by Rook, Sam and he decided to take the right and left respectively. Seeing this, Juan and Memphis tried stopping them, with Memphis grabbing Rook’s sword arm.
Sam deftly avoided Juan and did some damage to the Dauntain. Rook head butted Memphis and kicked the satyr off. Then he charged Ms. Gertrude and struck her down hard, undoing her Fae Mein. Afterwards on threat of being slapped around by Rook, Memphis and Juan came to their senses. And Memphis set up Ms. Gertrude with Percy so she would be convicted as a sexual predator.
After everything settled and the SGAA was relaxing in the club room, John Smith decided to make a rare visit. The club relayed to him about their encounter with the Dauntain, and Mr. Smith acted shocked. There was also much talk about making a freehold, which Mr. Smith thought wouldn’t be a good idea.
After setting her up to be a registered sex offender, Memphis and Juan wanted to save Ms. Gertrude’s fairy soul. Rook suggested that they should do some research first, so the club broke into the principal’s office. After making copies and searching the web, they were left with only librarian related information and articles on banned books. Then it was decided by Juan and Memphis they should go into the dreaming to save her soul. Without preparation. So the club decided to do it, with the adviser even opening a trod for them. And they were off.
