Recap for Chuck's January game

Jan 25, 2008 15:47

Here be a recap for the game. Hopefully I got everything, but if there is a point I missed or remembered wrong, feel free to let me know.

Shortly before waking up, Ky Rin dreamt of the land-locked landship broken at the dock. A hidden room reveals itself with an dark shiny on a pedestal,. a dark ominous orb tauntingly revealing its location.

As she wakes, the rest of the exalted wake with her. Turnip makes toast, while Rook drinks part of his breakfast. The book still sleeps soundly in the coffin case.

Ky knows she has to meet with Xanath , but doesn’t want to bring the rest of the gang with her. So she tells the group to watch the landship from afar. No one objects to much, though Rook does hope there’s some kind of fight.

The group split up into four. Keiran and Kaji went to look for their spot. Rook and Hane went to look for theirs. Turnip went off to do his thing. And Ky went off to Xanath.

Keiran and Kaji walked down the streets, talking while they looked. They shared little about their pasts, though Keiran revealed he is uncomfortable in urban settings, plus both seemed curious about Rook‘s skill with a blade and his about his big slab of iron. So Kaji managed to convince him to get acquainted with the most urban of establishments, a Nexus whore house.

Turnip made contact with a guild merchant he previous worked for on occasion. After going through the proper channels, he was successful in meeting. The guy didn’t provide much new about the ship, except it did meet the cover story in some cases, but odd how it was guarded. He offered Turnip an award to get what was on it and Turnip told him he would see what he could do.

Hane and Rook found their roof easy enough, though they were unsure what they were exactly to be doing. Hane decided to play a prank on one of the Realm guards by sneaking up to him and turning his helmet around 180 degrees, while Rook watched and drank. After Hane’s act, Rook took dibs on the next one. They proceeded to raise the attention of the Realm, diverting troops from the ship.

Ky met with Xanath, using the Rin part of her name. She asked him if she could get on the ship, to which he said it was impossible, and that the Emissary already made plans to remove what was on it. Ky then gave him a warning about the death nights, in that they were like us but not, to which Xanath Then Ky parted, trying to figure out how to get to what is on the ship, which she decided Turnip would be adequate.

She found Turnip in an alley watching the landship with a full tea service set. She joined him for tea and told him about the sphere o fear on the ship that she needed., and asked if he could pick it up. He agreed and left her to finish his tea set.

Turnip used a charm to remained unnoticed, though the guard was sparse due to a distraction on one of the roof tops. He made his way onto the ship with no problems.

The weather began to look like it was going to storm real bad and a light rain begun, gradually becoming more and more worse. Rook and Hane stopped their amusement and took cover under an overhang. Kaji and Kieran decided to cut their study of urban life short and head back towards the ship.

Turnip came to the area Ky described. He opened the secret door and the room described in Ky’s dream was there before him. It was something that didn’t belong in Creation, let alone a crashed landship in Nexus. There were no physical traps, but Turnip felt that several Deathlords and Fair Folk would know if he picked the orb up. So he used a charm to pick it up instantly, and activated a magical trap that began sucking the room into the Void. He ran for all he was worth, not wanting to follow the room into the hole. He managed to jump out just as the final pieces of the room were sucked, and the room he left was now a normal room on the landship.

The rain was pouring down heavily and the sky was pitch black. As Turnip walked off the ship between the guards regrouping. The Emissary appeared. (insert dangerous rant about solars). The guard look around confused, still not seeing Turnip

“I would like to say I am technically not breaking any laws…”
The Emissary began a huge summon spell, one bigger than even Ky has seen before. She walked onto the square, telling the Emissary, “You call us evil, yet you are willing to cause destruction to this city to take us out?”

Kieran and Kaji appear on the scene just as Turnip attacks the Emissary with his distance claws, though they bounce of the Emissary’s energy shield. Hane and Rook remain on the roof and analyze the situation. Kieran launches a long-range attack with his sword, causing an explosion to knock him and the Emissary and his shield down. But the summon was complete.

A huge lesser dragon of earth appeared, destroying several buildings with his entrance. Ky immediately began to cast Magma Kraken. Turnip and Kieran ran toward it. With a swipe it collapsed a building onto everyone. Kaji rushed to protect the Realm troops, mainly because one was cute. Ky was hit, but managed to hold her spell together. Kieran was then hit by the little god and flung into and through a building, making a crater in the street behind it. Turnip ran up the dragon’s arm and attacked, though barely making a scratch. Keiran got back up and rushed back at the beast, cutting into it slightly. Ky finished her spell and summoned Rook appeared high above the dragon with his war strider daiklaive. His strength and gravity still barely scratched it. The stone of the dragon’s skin seemed to make downing it a difficult challenge.

Then the tentacles of Magma Kraken lashed at the dragon. Each one grabbed onto him and pulled him down, searing him as the heat of the magma burned into him. As the tentacles caused him to expire, the dragon burst, sending both Turnip and Rook bouncing from piece of dragon to rocky piece of dragon.

As the chaos settled into a calm, four death knights appeared on one of the still intact buildings. The little necromancer girl with an umbrella whistled appreciatively at the wanton destruction caused by the fight.
