'60 Minutes' correspondent Ed Bradley dies

NEW YORK (CNN) -- Ed Bradley, the longtime "60 Minutes" correspondent who reported on subjects ranging from jazz musicians to the Columbine school shootings, has died. He was 65.

Ed joined 60 Minutes the year I was born. Some of y'all know that my daddy was 18 years older than my mom and she didn't have me until she was 32. What that means is that by the time I was here my daddy was OLD! He was born in 1929 and stuck in his ways so my weekends were filled with Westerns, Turner Classic Movies, Shane, TBN, MATLOCK!!!!, Perry Mason, Diagnoses Murder, Murder She Wrote, and of course... 60 Minutes.

I never was huge on 60 minutes, but I did love me some Ed Bradley. He was so much like my daddy and I often viewed them as one and the same. When my dad passed I spent the entire following week doing nothing but watching shows we used to watch together, and ended with 60 Minutes and Ed.

RIP Mr. Bradley.
