Log for Sam / Dean / Alice, DDHW.

Dean and Sam were in the dining hall. Dean munched on his breakfast (corned beef hash, ketchup and cheddar cheese all smushed into something that he would only call "amazing"), every now and then slurping down black coffee. He couldn't stop watching his brother. He was glad to see him at all, but here he seemed to relax a bit. Sure, they both ( Read more... )

"Baby Duck Syndrome!" Sam practically blurted because... his brother didn't just go there... only he really did. Because he was screwed... only he literally wasn't.

Of course sadly, Sam's first thought was of the BDS phenomenon in tech-speak and not well... certainly not what Dean referred to, but he'd keep that to himself or he'd be the one mocked.

"She does like you, but that doesn't mean you need to label her as a BDS case." Sam said seriously. "What I want to know is why you care when you've obviously been with other women since you got here.." Sam said studying him.

"Unless you do care... You like her back.." He guessed.

Dean narrowed his eyes. "I don't like her how you're thinkin'. I like her just fine. And maybe I feel for her a little. It's gotta doubly suck when you're stuck with a bunch of people from the past and can't understand shit they're saying. And other women nothin', it's just been the one. I"ve been busy."

He grumbled a little and shoved his hands in his pockets. I have got to get Sammy laid. He's way less annoying that way.

"Well how am I supposed to know there was only the one?" Sam asked. "I wasn't here for the first week you were." And Frankly, Sam didn't want to know. He just assumed, but maybe his brother's whole 'Get it while the gettin's good' attitude didn't apply so much here either.

Sam was pretty sure Dean would be more inclined to admit he liked River if he thought he could be interested without hurting or confusing the girl. Maybe he was jumping the gun there, but he liked to think he knew Dean pretty well. And River. Well. At first he thought she was just upset about Simon, but he almost got the sensation that River didn't like the idea of having to share Dean with anyone else. She had referred to Dean as 'kindred'. Maybe it was BDS. Then again he was probably over-analyzing, making something out of nothing.

"I guess I do know what you mean though... about feeling for her. She said she 'wished the same' as you did. Only you got your wish and she didn't. When I met her it was almost like she wanted to blame me because her brother hasn't ( ... )

Dean just nodded. The whole situation was getting a little too touchy-feely for his tastes. He didn't want to think about liking girls the way Sam mentioned. Not right then. He knew what that involved, and he wasn't looking for a repeat of the Cassie debacle (Baby, got something to tell you - hey, where are you goin'?).

He shrugged a little. "I know she misses her brother. And wonders why you're so damn tall. Then again, I know me and dad've been wondering that for years, so she can join the club."

Sam didn't want to crack a smile, but he did, shoving Dean a little playfully.

Dean grinned, shoving his brother back. "Just make sure you don't accidentally sit on Alice. Dad'd get pissed off."

He wondered if he told River that Sam was related to Godzilla, if she'd believe it. Then again, they probably didn't have Godzilla in the future. Better to say he was a science project, and I fed him only milk and hamburgers for three years straight.

"I hate you." But the statement was wrapped in the 'I missed you.' sentiment.

"I know you do." Dean smiled at his brother before opening the door to their bedroom. All was right in the world. Well, except him wanting to do the horizontal mambo with River, and River not knowing the steps.

But maybe she'd figure it out. Dean had hope.

Now he just had to find a chick for Sammy.
