(no subject)
So it turns out I'm not going to the northsix show tonight :[ So I'm going to post my pictures and stories and the like now! because I have nothing to do now that I'm not going to brooklyn.
So the night before Megan came up from ny and I made the three of us masks in preparation for the show the following night. Most of them came out bad except mine, luckily, because by the time I made mine I had perfected how to do it. So sorry dudes that yours sucked.
One of the opening bands was The Phenomenauts and they were seriously incredible! Had the show just been them it would have still ruled. They reminded me alot of Man or Astro-man and were totally awesome, I wish I had money so I could have bought one of their cd's but I didn't.
After sitting through a crappy band (the eyeliners) it was finally time for THE AQUABATS!! Let me preface this by saying I've wanted to see them since I was 12! I have so many memories of me Megan and Erica sitting in Megans room listening to vs the floating eye of death/the fury of the aquabats and like flinging goo on Megans ceiling and forming fake pop punk bands etc etc, basically the aquabats were the theme music of my adolescence and I finally got to seeee themmm!!!
I was squished in the front the whole time so I got to see everything that happened (which usually isn't the case since I'm short and it only takes one tall person to ruin my view) The only downside was that at times I felt like I couldn't breathe because of the nasty sweaty dudes like humping me behind me but it's all good because it was the aquabats!!!! Also it was so nice meeting Sean aka skaneverdies. Soon we will almost be neighbors! Thanks for protecting me from the masses behind us
Their show was filled with so many hilarious moments, with supervillains coming on the stage and mini commercial breaks and the like. Plus MC Bat Commander kept hi-fiving me and pinching my nose and stuff! So awesome!!
Towards the end of the show, the commander brought on stage a whole bunch of little kids, probably 10 years old, all wearing Aquabats shirts and stuff. He asked them if it was their first show and they all said yes (kind of) and if they had ever stage dived. So of course he made them all do it and it was so phat. The next thing I know Erica is on stage! (we had gotten split up) She pulls me up and since the commander thought it was my birthday (i had kind of lied earlier and told him it was..but I mean it's close enough, it's less than a week now!) he let me freaking stage dive!!! WTF!!!!!
There I am on the stage with some other random girl, getting ready to do it (thanks sean for the pictures!) I look totally gross because I was covered in my own and other peoples sweat but whatever!!
So that's basically it. Erica and I were going to trek down to Brooklyn for their next show tonight but she can't so their show will just have to live on in my memory I guess ;[
