1-Avoid situations that Tempt You-
(Genisis 39:10-11 And 2 Timothy 2:22)
Genisis 39 talks about when Josephs' master's wife hearkened unto him to lie with her but he refused. and one day when he went into the house to do his work there were no other men to be found in the house, just Joseph and his master's wife.
2 Timothy 2:22 says, "Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them tht call on the Lord out of a pure heart"

One of the best ways to avoid sin is to avoid the situations that you know are a temptation to you. Each person is different, and each person may struggle in different areas after they are born again. But by being humble enough to admit that you are tempted in a certain situation and avoiding that area, you will save yourself heartache down the road.

2-Keep Gods Word in Your Heart and Your Mouth-
(Psalms 119:11)
Psalms 119:11 says, "They word have i hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee."

By keeping yourself full of God's word you automatically reduce your ability to be tempted.

(Galations 5:16)
Galations 5:16 simply says, "Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh"

If you focus on God's promises and His love for you, the payoff for giving in to any temptation seems insignificant.

3-Choose Ahead of Time to Make the Right Decisions-
(Proverbs 11:3)
Proverbs 11:3 says, "The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them."

By makeing the the tough choices before you face the temptaion, you allow yourself to make the decisions in a neutral environment without the heat of emotions. You will always make better decisions if you base them on your integrity.

4-Be Careful What You Allow to Influence You-
(Proverbs 4:23)
Proverbs 4:23 says, " Keep they heart with all diligence; for out of it ARE the issues of Life.

If you hang around the wrong places or the wrong people for long enough, absolutes can become blurred. By choosing wisely who and what you allow to influence you, you guard yourslef from temptation.

5-Look to God-

It is always better to avoid temptation altogether when possible. But if you do find yourself in a situation where you are tempted to compromise, remember God has a way out.

(1 Corinthians 10:13)
1 Corinthians 10:13 says, "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it."

If you do the things that you can to avoid temptation, God will be faithful to help you right where you are in your moment of temptation.

"Foolish is the man that says there is no God"
