No, Edward Cullen is not my neighbor, he lives in Forks, Washington which is in the Olympic Peninsula! All kidding aside! I think visiting Oregon is a great idea, and not just Oregon the Pacific Northwest, which includes Idaho and Washington state.
Check out my world!
This is about an hour from my city. An HOUR.
And this is about 3 and a half hours from my city, it's a great drive though, and you have to hike down to get to this location... yes I've been there.
These are called The Painted Hills, they're outside John Day, Oregon which is in eastern Oregon, about 6 to 8 hours from Portland, Oregon.
Yeah, I can see this everyday.
Columbia River Gorge, where yes... they filmed parts of Twilight.
Eastern Oregon, Steens Mountain... which is situated in one of our least populated counties, where yes... cowboys still live and work.
Olympic National Forest, where the Cullen's sort of live.
Eastern, Washington. Geological mecca as far as I'm concerned.
Don't forget we also have major city centers here, Seattle and Portland! But know, Oregon's population is less than 4 million, as is Washington's I think... so the reason the environment looks the way it does is because it's not as peopled, unlike California.
Good, because I think in the grand scheme of things, Oz trumps Oregon any day, we don't have kangaroos. However, I did see a Kangaroo crossing sign the other day while taking a walk, must go back a picture, I think there are Aussies in the neighborhood that I don't know!
