"The long stick is one of the things that I think is very unique to the sport of lacrosse. It's very intriguing to the people who haven't seen the sport before. Once you explain to them that you can use this six-foot stick, and you can whack the guy with it, they kind of do a double take and say, "What did you just say?" That was what I honestly enjoyed the most about playing defense in lacrosse- the way when a guy was driving on you that you could really work him over with that stick."
