EDIT to mention that I get to see Arturo Sandoval FREE at the Silver Spring Jazz Festival on Saturday. Life is good!
And OF COURSE there are awesome shows at the 9:30 Club, too!
Aesop Rock w/ Cage and Blockhead MON. SEP. 10 $20.00
Hanson SUN. SEP. 16 $30.00
Kings of Leon w/ Black Rebel Motorcycle Club MON. SEP. 24 $35.00
THE ROOTS w/ Big Daddy Kane & MC Lyte SAT. SEP. 29 $40.00
Megadeth w/ In This Moment & The Confession SUN. SEP. 30 $40.00
Cannibal Corpse w/ The Black Dahlia Murder WED. OCT. 3 $22.00
Paolo Nutini w/ Jon McLaughlin & Serena Ryder THU. OCT. 4 $25.00
DJ Krush SAT. OCT. 6 $25.00
Klaxons w/ Shit Disco MON. OCT. 8 $15.00
As you can see, I'm most excited about Klaxons and ShitDisco. I mean what the fuck!!! I'm buying my ticket like next week. Most of the shows are out of my price range - not only am I broke, but after seeing so much awesome music for so cheap in the DIY punk scene it's like I've developed a genereal aversion to paying exorbitant prices to view live music, and that attitude has leaked into my attitude about viewing art in general, too. Of COURSE the Megadeth and Cannibal Corpse shows are mega fucking tempting, but I seriously doubt I'll be able to spare $40 just for a stinking concert ticket, and with NO guarantee that it'll be worth the money. And Paolo Nutini...well, I'm just being a fangirl because that Scottish motherfucker is foine.
