Please explain to me the desire to get married before college ends. I did not come from a family that believed that marriage was a natural end to things. My mother always told me to become an acheiver and to build a life for myself on my own good merits, not to find some dude, legal bind him to me, and then shit out his kid. I've never believed that marriage was something that I HAD to do, that it was part of a natural life. I truly believe that this is a cultural (euphemism for 'white')* thing because the Black wimmin I know have never been ringhunters.

Except for my cousin, Tara. She's not even thirty and she has a degree in broadcast journalism, but she's a housewife with four kids. Poor dear.

* think about it this way: it's kind of like how some people assume that only Black folks smoke blunts. OF COURSE it's not only us, but who is it that you always see smokin' em?
