The problem with staying up til it's starting to get light again is that the dawn chorus makes it difficult to get to sleep.
In an interesting post elsewhere, I came across the idea that grammar has displaced sex as the locus of shame in fanfic. I have the disturbing feeling that not only is this true, it's something that has attracted me to fanfic. And especially Whofic; oh look, a whole setup where being right and knowing stuff about things is good!
