Dear Friends,

Jul 17, 2006 23:36

Well, the family is back in town. Actually-my mom and both sisters are. And I haven't been moved to physically harm Katie yet, which I consider a huge achievement. Yes, I know I have total oldest child issues.

More news on the library front is that everything-healthwise-is complete shite. Also, productivity is reaching an alarming low. Which I will change tomorrow. I don't know where this ennui came from. Perhaps I'm getting a tad too comfortable in my position. Let's see if we can change that.

My job at school got eliminated, so that sucks too. Must find a new way to make ends meet. Ha. My ends have never met. They're complete strangers. Hopefully I can introduce them one day...

Finally, Natalie has read One For the Money! And now she's as hooked as I have been.

Joe tipsily read passages from the book I was reading last night, complete with character's voices and expressions. Delightful. And I helped Holly (aka Hobeems) study for her spanish test, which I hope went well. I learned words like tal vez (perhaps), vanidos (vain), la quimica (chemistry), malcriar (spoiled), and tocaña (cheap or stingy). I like vocabulary, but grammar--yechhh.

I also got to watch the second portion of the documentary on the Medicis: The Godfathers of the Renaissance, which covered Botticelli, da Vinci, and Michelangelo (who was actually raised among Lorenzo Medici's 7 kids!) amond other things like assassination atempts that took place during Easter services in the Florentine cathedral! Fascinating stuff! Yes, I'm a nerd. Proud to be, too.

"All the world is spinning round and round inside my head tonight. I will fall into the darkness, and I fear I will never see the light...So let me in...all that I wanted from you, was something you'd never do..so let me in..tonight..or I'll fall."

Good night my dear friends, late at night I sometimes wish we lived in a more romantic times. But I'm afraid those times never truly existed except in our innocent imaginations.
Love,
Sti
