I want to write, but I just can't hear Their Voices.

On reddit today, writers and students shared their favorite websites for producing ambient sounds. Here are some of my favorites:
Rain, rain, rain )

i am listening to your crickets. it's nice. much nicer than when i had actual crickets living behind my dishwasher - that drove me insane. i think the water helps, lol.

The difference is that these came with a volume control! lol

They can be hellishly loud up close, can't they?

yes, hellishly loud! i was completely unable to write a single word after a certain point. i finally had to break down and have the landlord call an exterminator, since imploring them to leave had no effect whatsoever, and it was a long, hot summer. i felt bad about it, but it was them or my sanity by that point.

What a great idea! I'm snatching some of these links, if you don't mind - thanks so much. :D

Thanks for these! Like kittylefish, I like your crickets too, as opposed to when I get an actual invasion of them - If only they came with a volume control like these did! That goes for cicadas and frogs too - love the sound from a distance, but if you're too up close and personal to them, they can be worse than tinitus.

Is it just me, or does rain also sound like bacon frying?

It does, you're right. I think it's a glitch in the Matrix!
