[The initial warmth of the dream was so familiar. It was inviting, and to anyone else, it would have been very comforting. Elliot, who was now standing just outside of the doorway, had barely cracked a smile upon noticing it. He couldn't help but feel nostalgic, and it was wonderful to see their old estate but he wondered if he really deserved to feel that way knowing what he did now.]

[His sister is sitting on the chair that had been displayed in the dream, holding the teacup between both hands nervously. By now, the image of the mother had faded from where it had been before, and the dream has turned cold. Even the teacup in her hands feels frozen. She leans over to put it down, catching sight of Elliot in the process.

She's never had anyone in her dream before, so she assumes that he is also a figment of her dreamstate.]

Elliot...come sit with me. [She says, listlessly.]

[He had half an instinct to try to walk off. Hopefully Vanessa would wake up soon and he'd be out of this

... No. He's never going to walk away from his sister like that. Awkwardly, he walks out, joining her, but not saying anything yet.]

[Self awareness in a dream is tricky; even when one is aware that they're dreaming, they're still trapped. But knowing that this is nothing more than a dream, she tips the frozen cup over until the tea begins to pour onto the ground. When it goes dry, she drops the cup as well.

For no other reason than the overwhelming feeling of loneliness that she feels sitting here like this in an old, half-memory.

But she really should humor the apparition of her brother for now.]

You're back from school? So early? Did you fail a final test?

Wh-- No! Why's that the first thing you guessed?!

[For a second, he didn't even realize that her comment made no sense to him. Everything that happened was forgotten and he just let himself have a knee jerk reaction, just like this whole setup was real.]

[stfuelly]

[Wow, even in her dreams Elliot is loud! She jumps at the outburst, turning towards him nervously.]

Huh? Then - why are you here?

[snapekillsedgar]

I'm here because of you! You pulled me into this!

[stfuelly]

Oh!

[Look who suddenly gets it. And looks slightly horrified as she raises a hand to cover her mouth. Oops.]

... You really had that little faith in me as a student?!

[stfuelly]

Well, I...

[No wait, she doesn't have to explain herself.]

You shouldn't be in my dream to begin with!

Hey, it's not my fault!

[stfuelly]

[She opens her mouth to snap back at him, but then realizes that if he's able to enter her dream, then he probably saw what had happened before. She turns to glance at the fire, which is still lit, and then back towards the empty seat where their mother had been sitting a few moments before.]

...Did you see them?

[He immediately calms the moment her gaze goes away from him. The real gravity of the situation came back over him when he realized he almost didn't want to look around the room. A horrible feeling of guilt churned in his gut.]

... Yeah. I saw the whole thing.

[stfuelly]

[She knows that if she says 'sorry' he'll just tell her that it's not her fault, so she settles instead for:]

It really was a beautiful song.

Lacie would have been even better... Even though that one was Leo's.
