If anyone is interested in Zombie Survival there is actually a written handbook on it. Notely called, the Zombie Survival Guide. This book has tons of different chapters including techniques to dispatch the undead all the way to transportation and fortification. Honestly, it's where I get most of my information from and it has tons of good points and takes a very humble approach to the topic

(It doesn't expect every person to have an armored bomb shelter in their basement although it'd probably suggest it)

According to this, there's nowhere safer than your house if suited correctly. Zombies will eventually get through barricades. Anybody who doesn't believe that well... might as well try body surfing through the crowd.

This suggests getting upstairs with weapons and good and then destroying the staircase. While this will take a while, and produces a lot of noise... these bastards can't fly. Once upstairs fill up your bathtub and anything you can find with water. (Water pressure will probably cut out after a few hours)

Pretty much with this scenariro you have little to no interaction with them, while getting up high into a safe familiar area. Black out the windows and try to soundproof as much as you can. Fire would be one of your worst threats at this point so if you could make it somewhere safe like in a bathtub it would be all the better.

I realize these aren't the most exciting plans but they're about the damn safest.

Trying to drive anywhere will you get you bogged down and lunch.

Killing them all is rather unlikely (I'm about 10 min from detroit... so I'm kinda screwed in relation to numbers)
