The Air Out There

I'm converting some (hundreds, maybe thousands) slides of my family into a digital format.  This brings back a bunch of memories.  The most recent interest is that I've found a picture of a rubber tree plant from when I was... 3 or 4.

I remember this plant... unless one was sup-planted when I wasn't looking.  Looking back on it, it was roughly the same size then, when I was three, as it was when I saw it last-- 19.   This tree didn't grow.  At all.  It never stood up straight, so we were constantly knocking it over and having to hang the poor thing back up on a stake.  Hindsight is also telling me this poor, poor plant was not in sunny areas... thus, probably, the low growth.

I like to think that this plant, noting turmoils of divorce and a rage of empty-nest syndrome, made a break for it, and is currently living somewhere in Jamaica.
