I had a pretty good day today without a pile of work actually, but then my mom and I got into a fight and she kicked me out of the house. I've been living with her ever since my suicide attempt and needless to say there has been a lot of tension. I'm back now, but I'm still really upset. Anyone have advice? Or love? Anyway, this is just a little piece of fluff I wrote yesterday and I figured uploading some Tom/Doug love would cheer me up. I actually wish this would have been longer, but I still like it.
Title-Why Do You Love Me?
Fandom-21 Jump Street
Pairing-Tom/Doug
Rating-G
Summary-Tom doubts he's good enough for Doug, but he sets him straight.
The TV was on, but the two young cops on the couch in front of it weren’t really paying attention to the mindless celebrity news on it. Currently they were facing each other and leisurely making out, pressing slow kisses to each other’s lips and occasionally straying to the face or neck. Tom let out a small giggle as Doug reached up and tickled his hip slightly, pulling him closer. Soon after, he pulled back and stroked Tom’s face. “I love you.” he said softly. Tom leaned into the hand and gave his partner a loving smile that told him that he felt the same. He leaned down and burrowed his head into Doug’s strong chest while the larger man tightened his arms around him. “You know, I’ve never really been totally in love before. Not before I met you.” He laughed at the cheesiness at what he just said, but the look in his eyes told the smaller man he was still telling the truth. Tom thought about that for a second. “You know, I always thought that if you ever got together with anyone at the chapel it would be Judy.”
Doug chuckled. “Yeah, she’s a pretty little thing all right. But we’re nothing more that friends. If I dated her than it would be like dating my sister.” he said as he did a fake gag.
“Well what about Ioki? He’s good looking.” Tom added. Doug laughed even harder.
“That would probably be the most dysfunctional couple in history! I mean, not only is he straight, he’s...well, he’s Ioki! I like him and everything, but I would never date him. Why would you even say something like that?”
Tom shook his head. “Just forget about it, I was talking shit.” Doug would have left it at that but he noticed that Tom had a look on his face, the one he got when he was confused and thinking. He lifted his face up so that he was facing him. “What’s up Tommy? Why are you suggesting I date other people?”
Tom sighed. “Why me Doug? Why not one of them?”
Doug looked at him as if he just asked him why the sky was blue. Tom sighed and explained himself. “I mean, the first day you met me you told me I looked like Ritchie Cunningham, and you were right. I’m small, skinny, and geeky, I whine all the time about my cases, and you...you’re like the cool football player everyone wants to date in high school. You’re cool, you’re funny, laid-back, handsome, smart...you could get anyone you ever wanted, woman or man. You could find someone a lot better than I am. Why did you pick me?” Doug’s mouth dropped open slightly and he felt a powerful surge of love for the man in his arms. He smiled and shook his head.
“Tommy, Tommy, Tommy, you insecure little bastard.” he teased, putting a small smile on Tom’s face. “You’re perfect for me just the way you are. Sure you can be a little uptight and I can count all your ribs, but it’s those things that I love about you. Some people are just made for each other, and I was lucky to find the person that was made for me.” By the time he was done saying what his heart truly felt he could see Tom’s eyes shining with happiness.
“Wow...” he breathed. “No one’s ever said anything remotely like that to me before.”
“It’s because you hadn’t met someone who loves you as much as I do.” Doug told him. Tom sidled up his body and pressed their lips together in a sweet but passionate kiss.
“Thank you...” he said as they pulled apart. “I feel the same way.” he told him as he pressed their lips together again, now without a doubt in his mind that this was the person he would give up anything for.
