Ranting At Someone

Here's a snippet of a conversation I had with someone. I thought maybe some of you would find it interesting.

Anyway, about Bush, it's not that I don't agree with the war, it's that I don't agree with the reason. War, whatever, we're a society based on war. Since the dawn of time, we've faught eachother. Only difference now is that we have thumbs; we can make guns and bombs. So what if a few schmucks die, they'd be dead in a week or two anyway. For me, if Bush had just come on the television and said, "Hey, guys. I'm tired of paying forty bucks when filling my tank, so I'm going to bomb a third-world country that has oil," I'd say, "Fuck yeah! Gas prices should go down now!" No, it's not the war, it's the bullshit they're trying to feed us.

As for standing for the pledge thing, I don't stand either. Not because I'm anti-America. I'm not. I'm a red-blooded American. People in other countries whole-heartedly wish they were here. We have freedoms a lot of people don't. Am I saying I agree with a lot of the views here? No. I disagree with most of what the media is feeding down our throught, but I still love the country and our freedom. I don't stand for the flag, because if you've pledged your allegience one time, why the hell do you need to again? Did I miss that day of vocabulary class where they told us, "Allegiance is a word that means you agree for the day, but when the sun comes up again, you're free to do whatever you want."

*pant pant* Now you've got me ranting.
