Fanart is kind of fun because you have to be on model by someone else's definition, whether it be a verbal description or an actual previous drawing. Here's some Discworld (the Watch, specifically) and some Futurama doodles I did last month.
Here's Angua, Carrot, and Vimes (my personal favorite). Angua was rather easy, although I think I'd like her nose to be more aristocratic. Carrot's design is SO boring since he needs to be handsome, kind of a characteristic Prince Charming type. So I gave him freckles for fun. And then Vimes. It cracks me up because everyone's Vimes looks about the same. And they all look a bit like Hugh Laurie. Therefore, Hugh Laurie will have to play Vimes in any live action film about the Watch. I actually have more Vimes doodles on the way.
For reference, I drew these on a plane, somewhere between Denver and Atlanta, so I think it turned out rather well. This is also right after I finished Men At Arms so that's where I mainly drew reference. This is also why Vimes doesn't have a scar over the eye, which is after Night Watch. (I'm a canon freak, whatever.)
Philip J. Fry and Turanga Leela. This was on the upper left corner of my sketchbook, so that's why the top of it is all blurry and gross. Fry actually has an interesting nose. I might steal it for future drawings.
And I'm probably going to make a poor decision and sit up at my computer working on more sketches. I pulled my back in dance class, and then hiked all over Table Mountain in the cold picking flowers. I should probably sleep after that, but I'm too antsy for that.
