I was listening to a recording of Bach's "Goldberg Variations" on my mp3 player and I noticed something inexplicably strange: there was someone talking or humming softly throughout the whole thing. I couldn't make out what, if anything, they were saying, but it was incredibly disconcerting. You don't expect people to ruin nice pieces like that.
Buncha savages.
Work is movingly along swimmingly. We turned in the first draft of an employee manual yesterday and received very positive and nice feedback.
Other than that...nothing, really. Hiking every weekend. Playing with the dog. Work each weekday. Money is tight. My girlfriend and I recorded some "blue tapes." Those made me happy.
I had really delicious and spicy kung pao shrimp last night. It was the best I've had in this town so far.
I'm almost done with the book I'm reading: volume 4 of the complete Aubrey-Maturin novels by Patrick O'Brien. Technically, it's four books compounded into a single volume, but whatever. After this, I'm looking forward to starting a biography of Capt. Cook.
Oh yes. My life is really this dull, but that's perfectly fine: I'm liking it. It's comfortable and nice and pleasant and I understand what's going on. I'm still morose but I've determined that's my actual personality.
Oh, Ginger & I found a new place! It's above a garage across the street from Bryan Park. It's within walking distance of the law school, which is wonderful, and it has a spot in the back for a garden, which is even nicer. It's incredibly small, but that's alright; we'll make it work.
I will regret losing so much kitchen space, but it's a fair trade: it's much cheaper and we've decided that I can have a section of the garage underneath for a weight-lifting bench. Strangely enough, parking a car in the garage was never actually a consideration. Fancy that.
