For the past couple of weeks, my shih tzu Gertrude has been crated for 95% of the day, and only comes out to go to the bathroom and for a couple of hours while our other dog is at the park. The decision has been firmly reached to give Gertie to my dad, where she will be coddled and babied, as is her wont. She's just too unruly and refuses to submit to Heloise, our other dog. She will stay with my sister at my dad's house while I am in Europe, and afterwards she will simply stay there. That makes me sad, but it is definitely for the best: Gertie is not cut out for a three-animal household.

Today a good friend of mine enlisted in the Marines, completely out of character.
Today, for the first time ever, I had to use the emergency "off" button on a treadmill. I was about to pass out and had to stop.
Today, my stool was tar black. That's not good but hopefully I can ignore it until it goes away.
Today, for the first time this semester, I was actually interested in Constitutional Law. Huzzah for the Tenth Amendment and Federalism!
Today I made another joke about New Zealand blowing up. It involved Martha Stewart this time. I'm so clever.
