"In that night alive with signs and stars
I opened myself to the gentle indifference of the world.
Finding it so much like myself -like a brother, really-
I felt that I had been happy and that I was happy again."
-Camus The Stranger
I just found my Blount notebook -from Foundations and Convocation-
second semester freshman year
and god if it isn't adorable ♥
convocation conversations with lee
loving librarians and woolf whitman adoration
of course then I found all this general chemistry mess
embedded in the darling pages of my notebook
and believe you me
they were emphatically separated immediately
the horror.
unrelated:
donkey kong = gorilla
diddy kong = his nephew
More importantly, Diddy is Donkey Kong's nephew... with a tail!
how? why? what?!
After doing some research on this very important topic I found that the two groups of monkeys offer an interesting distinction, quite relevant to this case.
Old world monkeys like the gorilla (from Africa and Asia) are not equipped with tails.
New world monkeys from Mexico, or Central or South America, on the other hand, are.
so Diddy must be a new world monkey
So I have some theories:
Perhaps DK's sister/brother adopted? Maybe on an excursion to South America (you know, on business or something) Kong's sibling discovered an irresistible little tailed monkey at the orphanage in buenos aires?
Or maybe DK's sibling is involved in research and generated Diddy from the DNA of an ancestral form of one of the great apes (think Jurassic Park), thus resolving the inexplicable presence of Diddy's tail!
I'm really glad I'm spending my time researching these possibilities. I think we will all be intellectually better off once these issues are resolved. And perhaps finally -I will be able to sleep at night.
