For the past few weeks, my time has been split between three things; one hiding in a recording studio with the band, working on new stuff and rehearsing the old stuff for a couple of gigs we have lined up this summer. Two, going on MySpace. My own comments are as full as ever of thirteen year old girls declaring their undying love for me, all of whom seem to have display names which alternate between capitals and lower case in that aNnOyInG wAy. Instead of replying to them like a good boy, me and James have taken over the band page (shameless pimp:
myspace.com/sonofdorkmusic) and aim to regularly update it with videos of us doing stupid stuff.
Video 1 shows why James is not the drummer,
video 2 is me and James dancing crazily and singing along at a Take That concert, and
video 3 is us beating up our tour manager. My favourite though is
video 4, and that fact that it's flagged as an 18-rated video should give you some idea of the content. If you pause it in the right place you get to cop a right eyeful of certain parts of me, so good luck with that. The third thing I've been doing is watching TV.
Obviously the World Cup is the main thing I've been watching. I've very much been buying into the whole patriotic thing, and have covered the apartment in flags. I even tried to put a couple of flags on the Delorean but received a bollocking in return. I'm looking forward to the Portugal game, if we win I'll buy you all pints of dark liquid for your user infos. I'm getting so much into the spirit I re-keyworded all my
icons after football anthems. I have no idea what keyword corresponds to which icon but at least I'll have fun picking icons for comments. In fact, I'm going to point you all to the videos of my two most favourite football songs,
Three Lions and
Vindaloo. Fucking genius.
The other things I've been watching have been Big Brother and Takeshi's Castle. They're actually scarily similar; a bunch of half crazed people making a spectacle of themselves on national TV trying to win a prize, the outcome of which is pretty much pre-determined. If I was Japanese, I would so go on Takeshi's Castle. There's no way they could do a version over here though, you wouldn't find 100 British people every week willing to risk putting themselves in hospital without even winning anything. Back on the Big Brother side of things, Pete pretty much has it in the bag but I'm still voting Nikki to win. She's just
so goddamn hilarious.
This entire entry has made me sound like the biggest loser ever. I swear my life is not usually this boring. I admit I did ring Hannah several times to make sure she hasn't forgotten all about me, and now I'm seriously considering resurrecting my social life and doing something with people I don't live with. Any takers?
