America...why not?

So, there's a few people who're interested in leaving America and moving to Europe because it's "so much better there." Well, lets look at things this way. In Europe, there's no such thing as the freedom of the press. So your railing about the Washington Times toting the government line would only increase, as anything that goes to press in Europe is censored to fit the governmental view. Also in Europe, there's limited freedom of speech, so your bitching against Bush, or the European leader in your country of choice, wouldn't fly as well as it does here. And to be frank, if you bitch here, you'll bitch there too, so it IS an issue that you'll run into. In America, you need an operation, you get an operation. In Europe, you need an operation, you wait till they get around to it. Ah, the joys of socialized medicine. But in socialized medicine, everyone gets to feel safe and insured, and making people have a false sense of security makes them feel better about themselves....its a cycle, but hey, thats why they struggle to keep up with us, and not vice versa. And if you're upset with the fact that you hafta give so much money to the government in taxes, you'll LOVE European taxes, which are phenonemally high. The taxes are in the range of $5 a gallon for gas, and around $30,000 per car PER YEAR!

So next time you decide to say "I hate America because it sucks so much." Step back, look at your own life, and think, how has America really treated you?
