A Park

Wow.
I feel SOO good!
I biked over to my park, and sat on a rock for 45 minutes. Some of the best minutes in a long time :D I just thought about everything, and made myself feel so good. I kind of also freaked out some guys who walked by. And I took pictures! Yay!!! Hooray for Camera phones! I tried taking one of the scenery, but the sun was stupid, so i took one of my shadow. And another, but it isn't working, because I don't know how to upload pics to Livejournal entries. So my Userpic is one of the ones i took. It's me on a rock :D yay!
The only other people in the WHOLE park, except for the weirded out guys, was this one couple who sat on a bench far away the whole time I was there. It was really cute. Or they were making out the whole time, and that makes it not so cute. But at first i thought it was only one person, because they were together, and I wasn't wearing my glasses. It looked nice. (Guess what. I was planning on inviting you to come there with me soon)
I had an interesting vision-type idea thing. And you know how I was being all motivational speaker before? Just wait till you hear this. But it made me think for a long time, so I want to try it out on all of you.

Picture in your mind a field of grass. Now, can you see any footprints? Can you see any tracks, any paths someone has taken to walk across the field? No, nothing shows. Now, imagine a man walking across the field. Every few steps he drops a small stone, to mark his passage. You walk over to where he walked. Can you see any tracks? Any footprints? Do you see proof that he was there? Yes, of course you do. In your mind, even after he is gone, you can still see the path he took, right? You know where he walked, where he started, and where he ended up. And with that small path of stones, you know exactly where he stepped. You can say that you saw this one man walk across the field, trying to mark his path. You experienced one man trying to make a difference in the world. But you know what? Most people won't notice.

Remember that, sometimes, you can try your hardest to make a mark, you can try to achieve a goal, and make a change in the world. Some people will recognize what you did, but many people will not even notice. They will step right over your path of stones. They will never know that in grade 6 you were the fastest kid in your track and field competition, and that you practiced for 3 weeks before the event. The won't know that in grade 8 you organized a party to say thank you to a wonderful teacher who was retiring after 35 years, and that you spent a whole weekend shopping for decorations and presents, so the teacher would have a wonderful time. They have no way of knowing that when your friend went to the hospital, you were there, by their side, every moment you could, and that when they needed to recover, you were the one they leaned on. But does that mean that you have wasted your efforts? Does that mean that you shouldn't have said thank you? No. Even if no one notices, that path of stones is still there, marking the path you took, the changes you made. And maybe someday, someone will notice the path, follow it, and see where it leads. Or they might use your stones to build a path of their own.

I hope that wasn't too corny/motivational speaker. Except, I really like motivational speakers. They make me happy. And motivate me. So all this came from sitting on a rock. Everyone needs their own rock, eh? Tell you what, I'll give each and every one of you a rock for your birthday!!!! Hooray!!!!
Thanks for listening! Tell me what you thought of the Story-Speech-ThoughtProvokingThingy!
