it's getting green outside.
excuse the silence, has been a hectic time and a combination of the scottish and the lithuanian germs got the better of me. yesterday was torture.
got up around 5.30am. got ready, and was out to get a bus at 6.40am. taken to airport. finally fly at 9.30am...
land at 11.50am (taking into account the time shift). get luggage at 12.10pm. wet stain on it so i thought something had burst. was only on the outside though, thankfully.
at this point it got worse. i just missed the intercity train when i got to the trains. there are other options, but the stop train after it was running late and i figured there was a risk of missing the connecting train at leiden, so i waited 30 minutes for the next intercity. good in theory.
unfortunately that broke down with me on it, somewhere outside den haag and i had no idea what was going on. so there was a lot of waiting around until everyone was told to get off the train.
so next was a stop train to den haag, a 20 minute wait, then finally a fast train that could take me home to lombardijen.
of course, reaching the home station isn`t the end and i had to face a 20 minute walk with the luggage in what felt like desert conditions. it was sooooo hot.
so from getting my luggage, it took about 3 hours to get home when it should have taken about 90 minutes and i suffered so badly.
my ears nearly exploded during the flight. i did really well, but those last 20 minutes of descending were so agonising. i`m fine normally, but when i have a cold i just can`t equalize the pressure in my ears and it`s the worst suffering i know.
the suffering on the trains was bad too of course, but i have the stupid guilt thing. feeling bad for the people around who are revolted by my condition and wishing i wasn`t near them, whilst i should be the one receiving pity for being deaf, blocked up and in general pain above the neck.
when i got home i fell into bed cos i was so exhausted. it kept me offline all day which is normally a sign i`m not happy. 8-)
today there`s a slight improvement, so here i am.
