(no subject)
so my computer is working. detailed already. why else has this been a difficult day?
dealt with a phone call from the agency today. guess she called to tell me the company had called me last night instead of warning me before it. 8-)
actually, it was fine and she was nice. she asked me how the phone call had gone and told me the company were really keen on me and wanted to make sure i`d stay in contact with her regarding my circumstances. good to have someone on my side. not a happy ending yet, but it does have a positive edge at least.
secondly, i had to go to leiden today to meet someone. random experience. with the day going stressfully, first i thought i was going to be late for my train, then i couldn`t get the ticket machine to work, then the train was late. 8-)
so i got to leiden and was waiting outside Molen de Valk, the windmill museum that some of you have seen with me, then the guy was about 45 minutes late. bah. it was pretty cold actually and i was getting a sore head from the stress.
he got there though. thankfully he found me as i`d no idea what he looked like or much else about him.
who was this person?
turns out he`s a canadian. from toronto actually. seems to be in his early 20`s, likes music, has too much hair, lives in amsterdam, and is in the process of starting up his own magazine.
which is where i come into the picture. i`m almost technically a music journalist now. 8-)
he advertised online for writers. sounded good to me so i wrote, we met up, now i`m part of the team.
it isn`t like i`ll make money from this. not in the short term anyway. he`s aiming to distribute the magazine free at first and perhaps charge money once people get hooked. it`s due to be holland`s only english language music magazine actually, which suits me fine.
what i do get from it is free cd`s, free concerts, and getting to spend some time doing things i like. i`ve been planning on doing all these things anyway regarding my own website. that suffers from the problem of my lazyness though. if i`m actually part of a bigger picture and the fact that people will read this is a much better inspiration.
so that`s the latest twist in my life.
i`ve survived a tough day. my computer is working, i almost have a job, and i have a hobby to feed my music addictions. all in all, not a bad day but i`m sooo tired now.
