Another Year...
Fuck, this year went REALLY fast. I think every single year goes faster and faster as you get older until you die. It scares me sometimes that time moves by so fast. If your anything like me, you spend most of your spare time thinking about what it is you want to do when you 'grow up', and all the things you want to achieve, but then occasionally time stands still and you realise 'I AM grown up, what have i got? what have i acheived?'. I always seem to get this way during the festive season, im not sure why... im not sure if it is because i have very limited good memories of christmas, or whether it is just because this time of year is a kind of 'landmark' for me to look back and ponder.
On the whole, the year has been pretty good, but i certainly havent really done much.. I have wasted a whole lot of time playing in a stupid band, to the point where i am continuously degressing from my dreams of having a seven digit bank account, but who am i kidding? I wouldnt have it any other way. I have worked the same shitty job, which actually isnt all that shitty, but it certainly is not very inspiring either... I have had a great, yet sometimes bumpy relationship with the person i care about most in the world, and i have also slipped further and further away from the rest of my family. I have successfully become a more sociable, yet even more alienated person all at the same time. Im starting to find it very hard to relate to the rest of the world, but im trying not to...
Good things about 2005:
- Lion of Judah - soul power, Iron Boots - tracks off generations comp,
MLIW - witness, Blacklisted - the beat goes on..., Killing the dream - in place apart
- I saw CARRY ON (If you were in the room you would NOT call it a cover band.)
- Perth reaffirmed itself as the best city in terms of hardcore with JAWS, EXTORTION dominating minds, and BREAK EVEN forming.
- Squats 2RM went up from 130 to 160, Bench Press 2RM went from 95 to 120, Deadlift 2RM went from 140 - 173
2006 i WILL:
- Get my drivers liscence
- See the majority of the world
- Do the part time business course
- Record with Bill Stevenson (Hoping..)
- Save at LEAST a thousand dollars
- Pay off some of my stupidity debt
- Become a better boyfriend/friend/son/brother
- Eat In'n'out burger
- Buy at LEAST four more pairs of vans slipons
- Start a side project band, and spit venom at people
- Try be a better person
- Train harder than ever before
- Learn more about everything i can
