Tomorrow I turn 40 and feel woefully underprepared to face this milestone.
IN the last few weeks I have felt without foundation, a stable basis from which to act, mainly due to the general busyness of my life. There's been something of a spiritual crisis which has caused me to reexamine who I am as a buddhist. Most recently there's been a funeral for a sangha member (which was very, very moving) and the illness of our dear pet, Jack who still requires constant syringe feeding.
However, I know that I am loved and cared for. There is a party on Sunday, probably in the rain but I don;t care. Cake and drumming and lots of green.
Stephen has outdone himself by selecting songs from each year of my life and putting them on themed Cds. So far I have had some stunning songs from Cat Stevens, Captain and Tenille among others. A full song and artist list to come.
Tomorrow, 40. I welcome you.
